Finishing our corporate work of art
“Enhance The Team Spirit With Art”
Create symbols for the team’s vision, carve it in stone together, work out a corporate form the stone and reflect on the process afterwards and realize cocreation at its best…
If two people carve a sculpture together it becomes clear how profoundly creative work moves relationships between people and how it improves it and lifts it up towards reliability.
The confidence-building process begins with the design, the result being that two people come together to create a sculpture.
This process goes on with agreeing on which stone to choose and how to go about the work and how to take turns in it.
Deep trust is formed especially when one of them is holding the stone sculpture while the other carves it with hammer and chisel. Of course, everyone involved wears solid work gloves, safety glasses and a mask as protection. However, it is clear that only the best coordination guarantees success.
Within three days…
not only a lot happens to the carved stone but even more between the involved persons on a relationship level. The more finished the pieces become, the more sophisticated tools are needed, and these tools can only be used alternately. The cooperation is intense and becomes even more fun the more the sculptures assume their final shape.
Finally while grinding and polishing mutual admiration comes up, pride, joy and jubilation, as the wonderful stones that we use come out like as precious stones after they went through the finishing touches.
During reflection session…
…appreciation grows about these entertaining three days, everyone realizes how much strength and reliability emerged in the team relationships.
Back in the company…
…they create an exhibition of the icons for the team’s vision developed by the team together – for all to see, and deeply felt and established in the creative core of the participants because they have given a forever-lasting form to their corporate idea.
These team-building experiences can be transmitted to all levels of life, where people come together and want to co-create.
So I invite you to this workshop if you desire to build confidence in yourself and others.
Workshop Price: 320 € per person
Material cost: between 50 and 80 €.
Workshop times: daily 10-18 clock
Minimum: 6 participants
Venue: anywhere in the European Union – will be individually stipulated with prospective groups/couples

Teaching stone carving
“SHONA at the Danube Canal”
has been a great success in 2010 and 2011 – why not join it in Vienna again in 2012?
SHONA and Austrian art in Vienna – on the banks of the Danube-Canal in the middle of Vienna, unter great shady trees. The place is called AGORA and is a traditional space for international artists, where they can work freely and develop their own position within the global cultural discourse.
One of the best (and funniest) stone sculptors from Tengenenge (Zimbabwe), Nimrod Phiri will hold sculpting workshops Shona style, from July 26th through August 8th 2012 . Daily fee is € 45,- for the first three days and € 35,- ever after.
Before and after the seminar it is possible to work freely without tuition and fee,
or you can study with amogis – Eveline Gisela Amort – on equal terms

We would like you to get enthusiastic about these sculpture workshops. In working with amogis and Nimrod Phiri you develop aesthetic and technical skills, and you also acquire patience, persistence and a sense for the stone. These skills are everyday tools at the workshops such as hammers and chisels in the creative process.
In Germany, the Netherlands and Switzerland in recent years these seminars were big attractions and people noticed the motivational potential of the African Shona way of working. Hundreds of participants looked spontaneously for matching pieces and asked the artists for rasps and sandpaper.
Details:
The sculpture courses are held in Vienna. There will be shelters for bad weather, tons of stones (serpentine fraom Zimbawe) in different grades, colors and sizes and all necessary tools.
Time:
The time frame depends on the content requirements of sculpture courses and will be coordinated with the participants. Both half or full day, as well as several days or weeks and weekend workshops are being offered.
The daily workshops are held from 13.00 through 21.00 o’clock all summer.
The sculpture workshops are suitable for groups up to 12 participants of all ages (children must be accompanied by their parents).
Cost of the program:
Self-designed work is for free. For those who want to learn and be advised – who participate in the workshops – costs range between 21.- € (up till age 21) and 45.- € per day per participant depending on group size and duration of attendance. The rough stone to be processed will be charged with 3.30 € per kilogram.
If you wish to participate as a group, we will discuss with you what you want and make you an individual offer depending on the possibilities.
The workshops will be conducted under the auspices and guidance of amogis (Eveline Gisela Amort) and Nimrod Phiri. Both have a thorough artistic training and experience in teaching. Nimrod Phiri speaks English, and Eveline Gisela Amort (amogis) speaks German, English, Italian and some Spanish and French. But even moderate language skills will do for anyone to participate.
Zimbabwian Stone Art
The stone art of Zimbabwe is of historical background. The origins lead back into the 11th-15. Century. In “Great Zimbabwe”, the most important archaeological site south of the Sahara, the first finds were found. The stone sculptures of that time show forms of an ancient bird, now the national symbol of Zimbabwe.
It was once the traditional, mystical content that was represented by the sculptures, from the mid of the 20th century Shona sculptures experienced a renaissance.
With the opening of some centers for Shona sculpture this new art movement was established and created the possibility of forming more new artists. International recognition was given the Shona art by exhibitions, mostly in European and American galleries.
Unlike other parts of Africa where artists are more tied to traditional models of their societies, the stone art of Zimbabwe offers individual artistic development opportunities.
Here are some works of amogis (Eveline Gisela Amort), which arose in part in workshops with Nimrod Phiri.

What was before?
We celebrated what we had created - we are proud to anounce that some pieces were sold…
On Sunday, 25th July 2010, at 18:00 clock, all sculptures that were created during the workshop with Nimrod Phir (inkluding those that were just begun) were exhibited exactly where they were carved into the stone: On the Danube Canal, near Schweden Bridge, where the daily workshops with Nimrod and amogis are continally taking place.
We had Brazilian BIO-Açaí fruit shakes, sorbets and smoothies and little snacks.
Thanks to all who were there! And special thanks to all who have purchased sculptures.
